WHAT OUR PATIENTS ARE SAYING

John Miller
September 29, 2021.
Have been treated by two therapists (Becca and Brenna) for back muscle spasms. They are both very competent, excellent "bed side manner", professionalism and skill. Their therapy and advice is improving my quality of life. Would actively seek treatment from them again if/when necessary.

I found Select Therapy helpful, very conscious of my comfort during this Covid time, and a very knowledgeable physical therapist. And I got relief

Aquatic Therapy is a form of physical therapy that utilizes water to bolster the rehabilitative process. Aquatic Therapy has many benefits including:

  • Reducing compressive forces:

    • Water can reduce the stress on the body to 10% of the patient’s total body weight
      • Enables joints to move freely
      • Reduces pain while strengthening
      • Overall conditioning and endurance improvement
  • Increased muscle recruitment & resistance:

    • Increases how many muscles must work as compared to the same exercises completed on land
    • Allows for instant adjustment of resistance simply by moving more slowly or more quickly
  • Improved Stability & Safety:

    • Water supports and stabilizes the body
    • Optimizes conditions for working on balance and mobility with individuals who
      • Have difficulty moving
      • Demonstrate poor safety with traditional balance and mobility training

Select Therapy’s Aquatic Therapy Program is an excellent way for patients to rehabilitate from injury and improve balance and mobility.

For more information regarding our Aquatic Therapy Program, please call our office so we may answer any questions specific to your needs. Pool Therapy is offered at our Crosslake, Baxter, and Pine River locations.
