Chronic Pain

Pain can be acute or chronic. Acute pain is relatively short lasting (less than 6 weeks) and is typically linked directly to a mechanical injury or trauma. Chronic pain occurs when pain persists even after the acute mechanical injury or trauma has resolved, or when pain is present in the absence of an acute mechanical injury or trauma altogether. Because there is not an acute injury causing this pain, chronic pain can be very frustrating and confusing to the person experiencing it. It is also often misunderstood by family members and employers. Select Therapy has a unique, evidenced-based approach to the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain conditions.
