Manual therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy that utilizes the physical therapist’s hands to decrease pain, improve joint mobility and range of motion, and normalize muscle tone. Manual therapy techniques utilized by Select Therapy’s highly trained staff include:

  • Joint Mobilization/Manipulation

  • Muscle Energy Techniques

  • Strain/Counterstrain

  • Trigger Point Release

  • Soft Tissue Mobilization

  • Myofascial Release

Select Therapy’s practitioners have advanced training in Osteopathic Manual Therapy techniques through Michigan State University’s Department of Osteopathic Medicine. These skills help assess alignment and mobility and treat mechanical dysfunctions in the body’s joints and soft tissues.
